Howdy! Thought we’d give you a quick update about our new album: we’re heading off to Hannover, Germany next weekend where we’ll be locking ourselves into the studio to record our 2nd full length LP following the release of The Wrath of the Lambs (2008) and the two EPs, The Rising Tide and Aborted Revolutions.

We tried out most of the new songs live last weekend at The Central in Nottingham, and this week we’re putting the final touches to the record.

We’ll be keeping a daily studio diary / video diary and posting the results to our YouTube channel, so make sure you subscribe for your daily update. You can also stay up to date on our Facebook page!

Oh – we can also reveal the new record will be titled ‘Glasnost’.

End of transmission!

Some of you may already know as we’ve already leaked some details on our Facebook page because this news is simply too exciting to keep under wraps! The title track off our debut album - The Wrath of the Lambs – will be featured on a very exciting new computer game to be released this summer called All Points Bulletin.

APB is probably best described as an online version of Grand Theft Auto. It gives you the ability to play on either side of the law as an enforcer, or as a criminal. It has LOADS of cool features like synchronising your music to your last.fm library, matching up your tracks with other player’s libraries and lots more.

This isn’t a review of the game so if you want to know more, check out the All Points Bulletin website, or one of the many review sites on the net.

The game will be released on these dates:

June 29th – North America
July 1st – Mainland Europe
July 2nd – UK

We can’t wait to get our hands on it and rock out to The Wrath of the Lambs whilst we pop a few caps in other player’s arses!

We’ll be heading into the studio on June 5th to record what will be our 2nd full length LP with Willi Dammeier at the Institut für Wohlklangforschung in Hannover – needless to say can’t wait to get started and to share these new tracks with you. We’ll be keeping a regular studio blog/video diary, so make sure you join us on Facebook to keep up date with the latest news.

What does it sound like? Well… it’s heavier, more intense and… well… more whammo than anything we’ve done to date. You might have caught a couple of the new tracks live so far at our shows this year.

Speaking of which – we’re doing our last show before we head into the studio at The Central in Nottingham on May 29th, where we’ll be showcasing most of the songs from the new album, so make sure you get yourselves down there and get a sneak preview!

Friends!

Whilst we keep you waiting for the next album, we felt it was time to offer you something a little special to keep your musical taste buds satisfied. We recently joined forces with Headroom Records to remaster our debut album, The Wrath of the Lambs with a worldwide digital release on the 29th March 2010. The record will be available via all major download services (i-Tunes, Amazon, 7 Digital, any many more).

Headroom Records are a fiercely independent UK label, working in alt rock and alt metal genres with bands such as bitune (DE), Gone til Winter (UK), Slag in Cullet (CH) and now, of course, illuminatus!

The record was remastered by Willi Dammeier at the Institut für Wohlklangforschung in Hannover, Germany. Willi has done an excellent job and has bought a very different feel and a more raw sound to our first record.

We’re very pleased with the results and think you will be too. So make sure you login to your favourite online digital distrubutor on the 29th March and pick up a copy of the Wrath of the Lambs in its remastered glory.

Cheers, and happy listening!

A decent review,- and a spot of half-baked fortune telling thrown in for good measure – from everyone’s favourite weekly music / trendy fringe magazine.

“If such a thing is even possible, illuminatus just made their already shadowy, brooding sound even darker. Their progressive socially conscious menace gets another airing on this follow-up to 2008’s impressive debut, ‘The Wrath of the Lambs’. It may be an EP between albums -and in fact one of the tracks here is an acoustic version of an old song- but there’s still enough here to intrigue and perplex in equal measure. All of the new tracks are ambitious in scope; heavy on guitars and full of cynical vocal gnashings and angry political polemic. Clearly (here it is – Ed), illuminatus are always going to be a band that will never progress further into the mainstream than its fringes. But their poetic and melancholic oddity proudly rejoices in being different.
