White Collar Criminal
The second track of the album is “Murdocracy”, probably one of the best tracks we’ve ever written.
We’re really excited about this one, and we can’t wait for you all to hear it yourselves. Musically, in some ways it’s a foray into new ground for us again… heavier, faster, more intense and complex; but there’s also a return to the more progressive and epic sounds of our first couple of EPs (Emotion Sickness for example)…. this kind of a running theme throughout the album.
More complex songs, heavier, faster where it needs to be, but also slower and more reserved in other parts. We’ve gone to both ends of the extremes much more than ever before.
Lyrically it’s big, visceral and uncompromising. I don’t think it needs much of an explanation. Here goes:
murdocracy
tell me what you believe
that hysteria is written by men who are paid to believe
what their leaders were told
like the bravery of fighting a war by remote control
we worshipped the pillars of greed
and the silent majority shuffled along with muted dissent
as white collar criminals gambled their empires away
but you’ve got blood on your hands
but you’ve got blood on your hands
but it’s not a question of faith
there’s a man with a cross in his hands
and a darkness that burns through his soul
if your god does exist, then you’ll be the first to burn
but you’ve got blood on your hands
but you’ve got blood on your hands
Our new album, ‘Glasnost’ will be out in Autumn 2010 via Headroom records.
