Another belting review here from the German web-press.  The introductory paragraph shows something we’re really proud of – listeners n0t knowing what to suspect and being and being extremely happy with what they’re listening to.  To quote Google translate’s version of the article:

“It’s always nice when you discover totally unprepared and without any expectation of bands for themselves. ILLUMINATUS is one such band that has recorded with “Glasnost” is a wonderful album.”

Murdocracy!

Not our van, yesterday

Well, folks… the time draws closer.  This Saturday we head off -via good old-fashioned amphibious transport- to Germany to begin recording our new album.

We’ll be making a short stop in Belgium to replenish The Whammobile, and then make our merry way down to Institut für Wohlklangforschung in Hannover.

Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be try our best at keeping you entertained via daily studio blogs, complete with video and photos wherever appropriate possible.

Progress / Reform! New album update

Citizens!  We’re making great progress with the songs for the new record – we’ve got around 10-12 tracks done and almost ready to record.

We’ll be heading into the studio on June 5th to record what will be our 2nd full length LP with Willi Dammeier at the Institut für Wohlklangforschung in Hannover – needless to say can’t wait to get started and to share these new tracks with you.  We’ll be keeping a regular studio blog/video diary, so make sure you join us on Facebook to keep up date with the latest news.

What does it sound like?  Well… it’s heavier, more intense and… well… more whammo than anything we’ve done to date.  You might have caught a couple of the new tracks live so far at our shows this year.

Speaking of which – we’re doing our last show before we head into the studio at The Central in Nottingham on May 29th, where we’ll be showcasing most of the songs from the new album, so make sure you get yourselves down there and get a sneak preview!
